I recently built my PC (about 3-6 months ago). I was wondering what i should upgrade next for gaming. I might go down the route of light editing at some point down the line not to sure on upgrade budget yet though. My current specs are:

i3-9100F

Gigabyte H310M H 2.0

Rx570 8g OC

16 gb RAM (2 8gb sticks at 2666)

500GB SSD(nearly ran out of storage)

 

What should i be aiming to upgrade and what to 

any advice is helpful

Well first, that 500GB drive ain't gonna last much longer. I recommend getting a second drive. You would also want to upgrade your CPU. Since its a core i3, it might not be the best for editing. Although i'd say 'light' editing and gaming would be fine on it.😉 But definitely the drive first.

Used 8700s run you even more than the new prices, there's no easy way to do a drop in replacement for your current CPU so you should consider switching to AMD if getting more cores for cheap is important to you. Either that, or hope the prices come own in the future.

Yeah used prices are often f#cked, I find in particular Intel CPU's more so than any other piece of hardware. But with 10th gen launching (likely this summer), prices on a used i5 or i7 could be more reasonable, hopefully.

yeah the used market in new zealand can be pretty dodgy. Although i might look at getting a ryzen 5 2600 instead
