I couldn't believe the contradiction in Newegg's advertisement for the Radeon R9 cards, take a look:

http://promotions.newegg.com/vga/14-0611/index.html?icid=235725&cm_sp=Homepage_TopRightV1-_-vga%2f14-0611-_-http%3a%2f%2fpromotions.newegg.com%2fvga%2f14-0611%2f300x120.jpg

It says "RADEON IS GAMING" at the center, and immediately to the bottom left of that, it says "Get Your Bitcoin Mining Gear Here".

I think we all know damn well by now that Radeon cards at their current prices are NOT suitable for gamers, yet Newegg actually had the balls to mention Bitcoin mining in the same ad. What kind of joke is this?

At Micro Center, every one of our R9s are going to the miners. They're gone before they even appear on our Website because some of the associates have connections and, before we've even opened for the day, send out e-mails alerting their mining customers that we got a fresh shipment in. You can usually find a few R9 270s, but anything above that is gone within two hours. I once sold every R9 280X, 290, and 290X all to the same customer on the same transaction, an entire shopping cart piled with them. Anyone who hopes to get their hands on a high-end GPU for gaming where I work either goes Nvidia or doesn't leave with a video card.
