help me with my PC

my pc won't give beep codes and no post  the only thing it does is spin its fans

Have you tested with other components like a friend's power supply?

You quoted yourself not me, so it did not notify me, you have to hit the quote arrow on the person you are trying to quotes reply. As for the computer being scrap built and working for a week, that's great but it doesn't mean something isn't having having an issue now. Knowing exactly what parts are in the system is something we need to help you. If you just give us a processor and then just generic manufacturer names that aren't model numbers or exact parts we won't know if there are common issues, incompatibilities, or anything of that nature. So please if you would like our help list your exact specs. CPU, Ram, Mobo, HDD, PSU, GPU, exact models please. Anything you changed or did to the system before it stopped working. The more information we have the better we can assist you.

so it's an Intel Core 2 Duo from July 2007.... 

13 year old system, it's a wonder it lastet that long.

well, to support a new mother board, you need new cpu and ram as well, unless you go for a used mainboard for your old rig..  with no warranties, as noone produces them anymore. 

If estetics or look matters for you at all, you would get a new PSU and casing as well, then you could just as well get a brand new setup.

Are you certain that it was the motherboard that was not working? Are you able to test with other CPUs or ram?

Is this another used motherboard?  Was it verified to work prior?
