Pressure applied to CPU, Dies

It's not that tight and as far as i know nothing is being warped, yes booting into bios is fine without a cooler on but anytime a medium amount of pressure through cooler or by pressing it, it dies and no longer wants to boot up.

When this happened to me (only experience with similar issue I have) was with moving my FX rig to another case/cooler.  Once I affixed the backplate from Ebay and the air cooler to the hooks (that took quite a bit of pressure to mount) while it didn't exhibit a bend in the board - I could not get it to boot.  I ended up having to bend the locking mechanism on the air cooler so that it was not tight on the CPU at all, booted up fine temps fine.

Id try for looser mounts a few times before RMA'ing the CPU.

Ok so this is really recent (an hour ago)

OS: Win10 64

MB: MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X

CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism

Current CPU: Ryzen 5 1600X

GPU: MSI RTX 2070 armor

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8x2 (16) 3200

PSU:Corsair VS650

Problem: Whenever any pressure is applied to my cpu by hand or cooler it immediately kills my pc.

There's no error code or anything, it just dies.

However i changed out to my old cpu, the Ryzen 5 1600x and now everything runs fine so i'm pretty much in the dark right now and not really sure what to do.

so came here to see if anyone could help however much possible.

How tight is your backplate?  If you are warping the board that could be the problem.

So what you are saying, is that if you boot it without a CPU into BIOS (can do this for a moment and not worry about overheating) with the 2700X, but as soon as you mount a cooler it will not boot?  Last time I had this issue it was an overtightened air cooler.

Hmm yes a looser mount may just be what i need, hopefully it will fix my issue.

Just for testing purposes, you could also ignore any mounting mechanisms and just rest the heatsink on your CPU.
