Building a local redundant archive

Hi LTT community,

First of all, I am German, so my english might not be perfect, sorry for that.

I came here, because I need to get my storage needs fixed, and I have never done anything like a RAID/DAS/NAS before.
Right now, my data is spread across 5 internal WD Blue/Green 4 TB drives and 2 external WD My Book 8 TB.
Some of the more important data is backed up to 4 external WD Green 2 TB drives.
I know pretty much nothing about linux and programming, so I prefer user friendly solutions.
My files are about 75 % Videos, 15 % Pictures and 10 % other small stuff.

My current PC (but I will probably upgrade this year and could use some of the exsisting parts for the archive):
- Case: Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 Rev. B
- Mainbord: MSI Z170A Gaming M3
- CPU: i7-6700K
- CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2
- RAM: Corsair 16GB (2x8) DDR4-3000
- GPU:  MSI GTX 1080
- PSU: be quiet! Dark Power Pro 650w

What I need:
- About 25 TB of usable Storage (e.g. 4x16 TB IronWolf Pro)
- I want all of my files in one, save place
- Redundent storage (e.g. Raid 6) for 1 local User
- The archive only needs to run while my PC is running (about 5 hours a day)
- Easy way to add additional drives in the future to increase my storage
- Some way add additional drives in the future (MSI Board has only 4 Sata Ports if I use 1 M.2)
- System will be placed in the living room, next to my PC, so it should not be to loud

What I don´t need:
- Network access fro multiple Users
- Virtual Machines
- Cloud Storage
- Plex (maybe someday, but not right now)

If all you need is a simple local storage location I'd look into Storage Spaces. A feature included with windows. It would allow you to make one logical volume from multiple physical disks with redundancy and a means of expansion.

If you need more ports for more drives I'd look into the LSI 9207-8i. A solid HBA for more ports.

I am not sure what to thing about Storage Spaces.
It appears to be incredebly slow and I don´t really understand what needs to be done after the inital setup.
There doesn´t seem to be any kind of GUI where you can do or see anything.
For my understanding, I would need to use powershell, which I don´t understand, to do anything meaningful.
Based on what I read so far, I lean towards unRaid, that might be a bit overkill for now, but I want to use Plex in the future and it looks very easy.
