assuming we can get everyone together who wants to contribute at one time. I can do almost any time after 1700  UTC on Sunday to 0200 or maybe 0300 UTC monday.

Have you personally used and tested all of these cameras? With no write-up, the list seems highly suspect and subjective. What is criteria for making it on the list? Why was A chosen over B?

My entire goal was making this a community based. I have not tested them all personally, I'm using mostly a compilation of reviews and comparisons from Potato jet, Kai W, DP review. I'm also taking feedback from other people.

 

I may change best overall to runner up and mention why.

Small suggestion, maybe add in a little note about the comforts and small info about each camera. things that most spec sheets and reviews wont mention. things like how they will feel, generally how its shaped, like how Canons and Nikons fit to hands better and Sonys and Fujis feel a little more like boxes (seems to be the consensus in my local community including Sony shooters, i also used to be a Sony shooter).

 

Also on the higher end, maybe mention the different uses.

Example, a sports photographer wouldn't get a Canon 5DSR, they would get a 1DX2 or Sony a9 instead.

A landscape photographer won't get a 1DX2, they will get an a7RIV, EOSR5 (pending), or 5DSR instead.

 

it's the small things that don't show up on spec sheets that make the difference between a good buying guide and an average one.

 

I can try my best to input and help out if you'd like, I've used quite a number of cameras personally mostly Canon and Sony, and would love to see the photography community in LTT grow. heck we could maybe even make a tripod buying guide or whatever in the future, from products that people in our community have used,

Size/comfort/weight should be added. I just want to get bodys in place.

I don't know how useful a tripod guide is cus we aren't talking about video fluid head ones. I'd say SD card would make more sense after this.

I think this should be kept off of the list. It's going to vary too much from person to person. For example, Canon cameras grips are too small to be comfortable for me. Nikon feels much better. But for many nikon is too deep / big. So who is more valid?

I was thinking about just general for comfort. Doesn't fit large hands well, or fits small hands well.

weight and size are just going to be objective.

I am by no means an expert and everyone's use case may mean a different model than the listed will make sense. I'll take feedback and update it.

Actually, I have been working on that for months.

 

Due to me having a literal tripod collection, I've kind of been christened "The man of many tripods". So I can definitely help out there.

My main PC took a shit and would likely require an expensive repair to get back working, so I'm currently seeing if I can get a built-desktop up soon.
