GPUZ reports 71% usage

Screenshot taken during a factory benchmark. Is there some reason why the power consumption isn't running 100%? Max temp is 85c before throttling, so thats not causing it.

What gives?

 

And is the GPU load whats being fed to the GPU or what the GPU is churning out?

So what does that mean? That the card needs to be OC'd to get 100% usage?

I would be more worried about the 85% gpu load rather then why the card isn't drawing 100% it's rated TDP.

Care to explain a little more in detail? Should the load be %100? Whats worrying about 85%?

edit: This clearly explains the lack of GPU load. 

This is a 1070 with a AMD Fx 8350 Black Edition cpu. So it looks like, according to this article, its CPU bound.

Is that Assetto Corsa? Anyways,

 

Not all applications require the same power. You could be 100% gpu and use less than rated which is normal. And out of two cards one may hit factory clocks using 20w less power. Silicone lottery.

 

85% gpu usage though, that means either you've set a fps limit, or you have a cpu bottleneck.
