sp 120 or nf f12 for cpu heatsink

vincent275

Hi, I'm currently using a hyper 212 evo and I'm thinking of swapping the stock fan for a better fan. Got eyes on corsair's sp120 and noctua's nf f12. Which one would be better and are there better options?

Well Nff12s are better and quieter but don't look as good

SP120s are still good but are a bit louder but look better

Hope I could help!

Noctua's will be quieter and have better static pressure. Corsair fans just look nice. If I can make a suggestion though, I would go for Gentle Typhoons.

I'd go for the sp120 because you can get the quiet edition ones which are quieter, cheaper and they are not much worse the the noctua fans

Better as in what? Temps? Noise?

The NF-F12's will make it quieter but neither fans would help performance much.

as asked before in performance or noise or

both?

i believe this may solve a lot of public issues with both symtoms (noise and performance)

and in some cases the color of the fan.

@12v 2.64mm/h2o @ 1300rpm - 57cfm - 16dBA for the rosewill/akasa PWM - $9.99USD

@12v 1.29mm/h2o @ 1450rpm - 38cfm - 23dBA for the corsair SP120QE PWM - $17.99USD

@12v 2.61mm/h2o @ 1500rpm - 55cfm - 22dBA for the Noctua NF-F12 PWM - $32.99USD

i got some of these last week and have been terrorizing the test case with them and

next the test bench. so far i am really impressed for the lack of noise and how well

the cooling aspect of these are and to boot, only $10. will know in a bit on thermal perf.

They should perform quite well. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6391/120mm-radiator-fan-roundup-part-2-fan-harder/7
