Witcher 3 instantly closing when opening linux

Trying to play witcher 3 on a new install of pop os whenever I open the game it just closes after a few seconds.

 

I have the following specs

 

i5 6600k

r9 390x

Im running it on proton. I tried multible versions.

 

Im very much new to linux, no idea what im doing. Anyone any suggestions?

While you might find an answer here but it's generally not the best place to do so

if your using an ntfs partition, you'll need to edit your /etc/fstab parameters to set the uid and gid to your username.

some googling should get you through the rest
