3700X unless you refuse to overclock then spend the extra 30$ on the 3800X

If you’re mostly gaming and only doing a little bit of video editing I would recommend the 9700K for two reasons:

 

1). It’s overclockable.


2). It has higher clock speeds and that is what is most important for gaming, yes the Ryzen has more cores which will help in video editing but as you said you’re doing a lot more gaming than video editing.
