Hello everyone, I was thinking about my next move about my gaming rig. Yeah, it is not the first time I am thinking about changing but it is just an idea that I had.

The other day I was thinking about purchasing the ROG Zenith II Extreme and any low end first gen Threaripper (for instance, I can get the 1920X for 200USD) and then update the CPU in a couple of years to Threaripper 4th gen or 5th gen if possible. Then reality came when I saw that they do not share the same socket.

Now I am thinking the same about purchasing a high end X570 motherboard and a 2700X. It may seem goog in paper but my actual computer is the following:

- Asus Rampage IV Extreme

. i7 3930K

- 6Gb RAM

It is not that low power but it is giving me many headaches to boot Windows 10 and get stable gaming (many crack errors since i got Win10 and an m.2 ssd). Yes, I know, the amount of RAM is not enough, especially considering I game at 4K but one module broke down and I am not spending a single dollar on anything DDR3.

Of course it is always better to wait and see, especially now that Intel is about to release something soon but I have doubts if that is going to be soon as coronavirus and the fact that prices will not go down soon.

What do you guys think? I do not think of a Threadripper gen 3 chip affordable soon, as it seems like AMD named the lowest 3970x to show the increase from the 3950x which is AM4. Shall I wait? Would I feel the difference from my computer with a 2700x now?

Thanks in advance for help

Have you tried free fixes like reinstalling Windows?

Well, I really would like to be happy with a ryzen 5 3600 and a decent x570 but I really want to have the high end mobo and combination. I have a 1,000 USD budget (I was thinking about getting a VALVE INDEX but I am going to wait) which needs to inlclude cpu, motherboard and ram.

Of course, come on, I am not stupid but the platform does not support m.2 and windows 10 and thats why it happens. I am also running pcie 2.0

And yes, here in europe prices of hardware have increased due to coronavirus and there are certain concerns about Microsoft and Sony delaying the next gen consoles. I also think it is too much but I will not be paying the just release prices so I do not expect the new chips for me in about a year.
