Anyone know of a good gaming motherboard for £100 or less.

i'm stuck with an i3 processor and and desktop PC motherboard :(

Can we please get a little more context?

Do you want a motherboard for your CPU? Want to upgrade your whole system? What is not good about your current board?

If you want to get a new board for your current system to improve stuff.. That is not how it works.

assuming you want a new build, and you're starting with the motherboard

ASRock B450M/AC, compatible with third gen Ryzen out of the box and has a decent VRM heat sink. Slap a 3600 in there and call it a day.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

What games do you play? Is your PC a prebuilt? If so, what model is it? You may be better off just buying a used GPU and sticking it in there, depending on the PC(whether the PSU is capable enough etc.)

That GT 710 has got to go first, maybe slap a cheap used RX 470/570 and slap it in there

as for the CPU, do you know what i3 it is?

you can get a cheap i5 2400 or 3470 which would be a good performance upgrade, or an i7 2600 if you want to spend a little extra. Grab some cheapo thermal paste too, for the new CPU. Since you got the PC off ebay you can get the other parts used off ebay as well.

strix motherboards are always overpriced. Like I recommended earlier, the ASRock B450M/AC is cheap and quite good. only like 75 quid.

alternatively, the non-wifi version

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/zym323/asrock-b450m-pro4-f-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450m-pro4-f

alternatively, a MAX motherboard from MSI which is guaranteed to be compatible with 3rd gen ryzen

were you going to get the Ryzen 5 3600? Or a 2600? or maybe the 1600 (12nm version)

Go buy a used RX 470/RX 570 and replace your GT 710, should improve FPS by a lot. Your CPU is a little weak, but with a stronger GPU you should get decent performance. The GT 710 is the cause of your low FPS

Also, never ever buy an ROG strix anything unless you are willingly spending extra on brand and/or aesthetics. Performance wise, ROG strix products often fall short compared to similarly priced products(and may even fall short of much cheaper products).
