How much is the import tax usually?

Sorry if this is a stupid question

Tax, shipping and losing easy warranty support. I don't if Australians could save something, but in Europe, buying from US for example isn't cheaper as you will pay the difference in import fees, taxes and shipping. Unless its something you can't get closer.

The Australian dollar =! USD or other currencies. Even if there weren't any additional fees from importing, you'd still have to convert your currency. For example, if you bought a $600 part from the US, that would be about $1000 Australian.

Yes, I like to buy used older PC parts from china. They are cheap and you usually can avoid paying import tax here in Germany as the customs office is flooded with packages from china that they only make spot tests. Can´t say how it is handled in Australia
