Which GPU for 1080p144?

Hello! I'm thinking about buying a new GPU for 1080p144 or maybe some titles in 4K60. Is RTX 2070S or 2080S okay? Now I have Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and I think about upgrade to 3700X. I mean I want as much power as I can get right out of the box and I was thinking about 2080 Ti aswell. Which vendors can you recommend? Or maybe I should save some money and wait for 3000 series and then buy 3080 Ti? I seriously want as much power as I can get without thinking about requirements.

As much power as you can get? I guess you want Titan RTX SLI.

For that framerate, I think you don't need to go higher than the rtx 2070 super. If you asked about this and didn't outright buy an rtx 2080 ti, that means you care about your wallet I guess

I’d recommend a 2070 Super or better.

 

Im currently running a 2080 Ti on a 1440p/144hz monitor and it maxes out my FPS even with all ultra settings while playing modern AAA games like Resident Evil 2 (remake), Devil May Cry 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and other recent games.

 

The only game I don’t max 144+ FPS is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

 

So since you’re gaming at 1080p/144hz a 2070 Super or regular 2080 should be able to max out 144+ FPS for you.

 

However, If you do plan on upgrading to 4K60 then a 2080 Ti is necessary. But you should consider 1440p/144hz since most gamers seem to prefer that to 4K60 (including Riley from LTT as he said in the “cheap vs expensive gaming” video).

I don't play AC games anymore. I mean that I need as much power as it can offer right out of the box. I'm playing the newest Modern Warfare and Battlefield V a little but with my RX 5700 I can't play BFV cause of crashing... This card have some few seconds stutters and drop Voltage same as Clock Speeds for a few seconds. Seriously RTX 2070S/80/80S gonna max out 1080p144 framerate? I'm playing a lot of Multiplayer games like BFV or Modern Warfare.

What do you think about buying used GTX 1080 Ti? Aorus, Jet Stream?

Price is much better. Just grabbed one myself for 400 bucks. Cheaper than getting a 2080s and new block. 
Just depends on the actual settings you want and overall FPS. 
Id get the best thing you can afford.

I think a 2080 or 2080S should definitely get max FPS in all the games out there at 1080p. But I don’t recommend paying all that money for a 2080 Ti unless you plan on upgrading beyond 1080p.
