My ThinkPad X1 Extreme with i7-8750H started getting really hot yesterday. RealTemp saw CPU temperature go up to 80-90 C while just browsing the web, though it typically is staying in the mid 60s to mid 70s. The only things I did yesterday was update some Windows Defender definitions and blow compressed air in the fans and vents to try to clean out dust. It normally runs at about 45-55 C when I'm doing this sort of task. Tried reapplying Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut again but nothing changed. Not sure what's going on. The fans are constantly on and it's driving me nuts. Attached an image from this morning. It looks like this is only happening when I'm plugged in. When I'm on battery, I stay in the 40s to 50s.

Spikes up in to the 80/90's is typical for thin and lights with those processors, you might load some page and the CPU will go max turbo boost for 1s and the temp will instantly spike. I have a MBP 2019 and XPS 9570, both have 8750H's and almost every day I'll see a spike up to 80/90c when opening a web page or a document. It's usually because the CPU gets a sudden load, boosts way up and the fans haven't yet reacted for contain the temperatures. It should spike up to 80/90 and then settle back down to 60.

Except that started only a few days ago. I normally settle in the 40s and 50s when I'm just browsing and working in Excel. Right now, my fans are constantly on.

EDIT: Figured out it was the Opera version of Honey that was causing problems. Uninstalling it brings me back to this as my normal.
