Func MS-3 gets revised

Today, Func posted a bulletin on their insider pages (for owners of Func products) announcing the Func MS-3 Revision 2:

 

 

As a response to the feedback from you guys, we are proud to announce the Func MS-3 Revision 2.

In addition to performance and reliability updates, the MSRP has been moved to $ 59.95 from $ 79.95, an improved product at an even better price.


More information about the product will be available on Monday.

 

I personally am happy with this, as the Func MS-3 is my favourite mouse ever, but it has some glaring problems and a seemingly high RMA rate. Notably the instant-aim button is too far forward on the mouse for normal people to reach comfortably, the scroll wheel has been known to arrive broken to customers (like it did on mine, in the middle of RMA right now) and the driver and software has massive issues with Windows 8; leading to hours of tears and firmware updates to even try to get it to work.

If it fails, will they send you the rev 2? I've got the rev1 right now, and haven't had any issues, but who knows about the future.

Uh, how is that a better price? Unless the OP switched something, it looks like they raised the price by $20 in exchange for fixing problems the mouse already had (i.e. nothing new, it just works better).

Well, fixing problems and lowering costs...interesting, looking for a new mice since my razer Abyssus scroll wheel keeps bouncing up and down when scrolling. Not sure what's wrong tho. But my current future mouse is mionix avoir/naos

can they not fix the drivers for mine on windows 8? surely new drives should be easy enough to supply using software.

I just got my new mice sent to me from them.. needless to say.. the scroll wheel is starting to break again with less than 3 weeks of light use.. looks like another RMA is in order..

Silently, Func has updated its MS-3 gaming mouse. The updates aren't game changing, though they do make the MS-3 even more attractive to tempted buyers.

Its good to see them makes fixes on the mouse. I have always been interested in it there have just been other mice higher up on my list when ive had money so this just gives me more of a reason to pick it up. I do wonder how your supposed to know that your getting the revised version though.

I was going to buy myself a MS-3 for Christmas, but no one was selling it, it was either out of stock or discontinued(depending on the store). I figured Func was updating the mouse, so I waited, now I'm glad I did.

 

*Edit, just looked for pricing. The only stores I can find the revision 2 model are still selling it for $80-$90. Does anyone know when they are officially releasing/updating the current model and when it will be available for purchase?

Well I'm looking at all the sites I can and only NCIX has it, but it's pre-order and for $89.99 USD

 

I can see the page on their site about the mouse though, does anyone have a list on the differences between the two?

Sorry for the bump, but I wanted to bring an update with it's availability.

 

 

Hey all, I recently contacted Func support to inquire about the Func MS-3v2 availability.

 

This was their response,

As far as the Func MS-3v2, we have received a shipment in our warehouse, but it hasn’t been released yet.  Once it is released, which should be in the coming days, it will be available to resellers and ideally would be available almost immediately.

 

I received this email yesterday, so expect retailers to have this mouse soon! I know I am going to get one!
