Does anyone know if you could pay amd or nvidia to make you a personal custom gpu? I know you could just get a super expensive gpu like the rtx titan and call it a day but all general consumer gpus are restrained by the need to keep costs down and profit high. How powerful could the gpu be given no price constraint? This is assuming that the cooling system would be designed to keep up with the heat output.

If this is the wrong place to ask this or if it has already been answered somewhere else i would very much appreciate if someone could point it out to me.

You don't make the best videocard from a given GPU (graphics chip) by just slapping a big cooler on it and calling it a day.

Videocard like the EVGA Kingpin cards use custom PCB's that are able to supply more power (in a stable way) to the GPU and its memory to make it be able to reach higher speeds. A cooler is just part of the full package.

Plus I doubt Nvidia or AMD will sell a GPU as an individual piece.

A single person with little to no experience in the creation of electronic circuits will not be able to make anything with just a GPU from Nvidia/AMD.

Im not saying to just slap a cooler on it and call it a day i was just saying that cooling wouldn't be a problem to cut it out of the equation. What im asking is that amd or nvidia would do all the work with the design and production of the gpu. You would just pay an arm and leg to have it done. Im really just wondering what could they do with the current tech ( how far could they push it given no power, cooling or price constraints.

At the moment I don't think their GPU's are being constrained by thermal or power limits, but rather simply limits to the silicon being used.

For example, on the Nvidia Quadro series they are charging a whole lot more for the same silicon as a GTX card, but rather than making it much more powerful, on Quadros they are simply making drivers much more optimized on those videocards. That makes me think there is not a lot that can be done with the process, or the product, but more with the software optimizations.

This would be quite difficult considering the many years of architectural research and develop that goes into creating graphics cards. Theoretically, assuming you weren't constrained by either time or money. Not to mention, getting them to even agree to create and develop such a gpu for just one individual. I guess you could technically get a graphics card with an insane amount of graphics processing power. How powerful? I really don't know.

I bet a couple hundred mil could do it lol. Im thinking just scaling things up maybe?
