I just realized that think there’s an issue it’s 3000mhz

The h310 chipset (your motherboard) only supports memory speeds up to 2666mhz. Anything higher than that is technically an overclock which the motherboard does not allow.

You can view the supported memory speeds on the manufacturers website for your motherboard.

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/H310M-PRO-M2-PLUS/Specification

You can still use 3000mhz memory, it'll just run at the slower 2666mhz speed. It's not really an issue.

It’s an msi gaming x

It's most likely just speccy being rubbish then.

Only thing I can think of is that my 460w psu from my alienware isn’t enough for my pc. Any ideas? Did it once and wouldn’t turn back on then just happened again and it just restarted and seemed like it double booted

When it wouldn't turn back on did you need to toggle the switch on the back of the PSU off and on again before the system would start?

Don’t have a switch on it

That's 2666MHz effective.

What I can't really wrap my head around is why it's showing that the 1080 only has 4GB of VRAM. Maybe it's just Speccy being Speccy?

Regarding the actual topic, I wouldn't imagine that Alienware's PSUs would be amazing or anything in terms of quality, 460W should be enough normally if it was a good quality unit, so that's probably it.

I was on my pc for hours then I play a game for 5 minutes and the pc crashes. You think it’s my psu?

Ok so neither of my gpu fans are spinning any ideas? Don’t think it’s the 6 pin or 8 pin connectors because I have a display

Still crashed. I turned on my gpu fans and it’s still restarts and double boots by itself

Are you using molex to PCI-E, or any sort of adaptors for your graphics card's power? If so, that PSU may not be adequate to run your GPU.

Modern graphics cards will have their fans turn off when idle. As long as they turn on while putting load on the GPU (while gaming for example) then there's nothing to worry about.

Also try reverting any overclocks, if you have any.
