NH-L12 Compatibility

Are there any AM4 itx motherboards compatible with the NH-L12? (Not NH-L12S) Preferably one that has wifi/bluetooth. Thanks in advance!

I can't find the NH=L12.

Only the NH=L12S.

oHH, i see. unfortunately here in my country sellers i can't find the NH=L12.

Not even in Amazon.uk....

If you read the pages you'd see that the NH-L12S is the replacement for the NH-L12, the L12 is not made any more. OP obviously found one somehow still in stock or bought it used or bought it back when they were still made. 

 

@SaltyRonin are there special compatibility concerns with the L12? IIRC it's very similar to the L12S, but I think there's some slight differences? I know the SFF community tends to prefer them. 

EDIT: A quick zoom through PCPP isn't throwing any compatibility errors, though that's not always a guarantee.

Makes sence..... as for the compatibility all the pictures i saw from both, its like they are identical OP can see the specs from Noctua page

The reason I'm looking at the NH-L12 vs NH-L12S is the original is 4mm shorter and that allows it to fit in my case. I'm more concerned with vrm heatsink height that would block the radiator. I will have low profile ram so I shouldn't have an issue there.

You can just simply squish the L12S lol. Though yee VRM heatsinks may get in the way, but it's ez to get a board with very low ones. What CPU are you looking to run?

3600x is what I'm looking at right now, and I dont have a gen 2 cpu to update an old bios so I'm looking at the newer generation of mobos. Preferably one with wifi as this is a build with LANs in mind.

So X570 I assume? Those are the only boards I know of guaranteed to come with a compatible BIOS 100% of the time. I don't know that there's ones like the MAX version ATX boards MSI offers that have updated BIOSes out of the box. 

For X570 you just have two choices lol:

 

The VRM heatsink - I/O shield combo is the main concern, IDK which one has the lowest one. The Gigabyte is lower near the CPU socket so that might have the best chance of being worry-free? Both are excellent boards AFAIK, so it's really down to personal preference, price, and which fits with that cooler the best. Chances are you can find a review put up by an SFF guy with an L12, since they're very popular coolers. That'd be the best way to confirm compatibility.
