all I’ve got for you is definitions of acronyms I’m afraid.  Might be useful, might not.  There are people who will understand this better than me.  I’m just trying to facilitate a bit.

Ppt= apparently stands for “package power tracking” and can go up with high thread counts, which makes sense with bunches of tabs open.

edc= “electrical design current” which has to do with how much current your motherboard voltage regulator configuration can put out.  I think.

Im guessing your cpu wants more voltage than your motherboard can provide or is set to accept from the motherboard? Maybe? Not sure.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

I did not say that.  Didn’t mention the PSU at all in fact.  I actually rather doubt PSU wattage capacity has anything at all to do with this.  I could be wrong of course.

Which motherboard do you have?

Seems like a limitation of the mobo, using an A series by chance?

i have Asus TUF GAMING X-570 PLUS

Then something is screwy in the bios. My numbers are way higher than those.

If you go to the bios and check AMD overclocking, and check precision boost overdrive, it should be set to Advanced. and leave the rest at default settings.

OOOF!

You need have the 8 pin connector plugged in. 4 pin is for additional power for overclocking (not needed). but you NEED the 8 pin connected,.

Yes, in fact i wouldnt run the computer just on the 4 pin. Its not getting the power it needs and cant guarantee its health.

curious on how your PSU doesnt have an 8 pin cable, thought that was an ATX standard.

The impression I am getting is that the problem with the PSU is not wattage, it is cable connections.  The make/model of the PSU so far has not been mentioned.  Perhaps this is important.  This could be a situation where the PSU has the required connectors and is merely plugged in incorrectly.

Should still have an 8 pin cpu connector. It's not that old
