They are the same mouse and keyboard, just marketed differently depending on the region. The G305 & G915 is for the America's and Europe, while the G304 & G913 is for Asia.

Looks like these are just for different markets and only one should be available per market.

But kind of weird to have them name it differently.

Different product models for different markets is nothing new. Smartphones are often the same, though their marketing names are much more widely used compared to the actual model numbers. For example OnePlus 7 phone has three model numbers: GM1900, GM1901, GM1903 - three different regions.

Some companies hide it more from their customers for simplicity and to avoid confusion. Others don't bother with it.

I get that. But why have G913 and G915 for different regions when your G915 still has these:

That's like if OnePlus made OnePlus 7 GM1900, GM1901, GM1903 as you mentioned, but then the GM1900 has another 5 different region models listed under it.

That nesting of region variants doesn't make much sense.

i am aware that this has happened before, especially on Samsung phones with the different processors, but this just seemed odd

Oof. That's a whole level on top of the existing one. No clue in that case. :D
