But seriously.

Do you really need an activated version of Win 10?

My notebook is running unactivated for like a month now, although i have a key. Was just too lazy to search it in my emails after a fresh win 10 install, lol.

I genuinly think getting your keys of cheap sites is such a bad idea. If Microsoft sells it for 200, Why do some sites somehow sell it for 20 bucks?

Dont you think something there is fishy?

You can just run it unactivated and you'll be fine as long as you aren't a doofus.

Usually how those sites can offer those prices is by buying massive quantities in bulk directly from microsoft. Or they use a scammed credit card :P

Two points here.  Say you are a software designer; how would you feel if consumers found ways to purchase your product without paying the listed retail price?  Do you think you would stay in business?  How long do you think game designers can stay in business if customers adopt this same behavior pattern?

Point 2:  you buy a Win10 Pro key from MSFT or licensed retailer you have that key "forever."  If you want to build or buy a new PC you can easily transfer the key to that new unit.  you can also upgrade to a new MoBo without any issues at all.  You need to amortize the cost of the Win10 key over time and the cost per year is not €200.

Why support piracy or dishonest business behavior?

Workstation PC Specs: CPU - i7 8700K; MoBo - ASUS TUF Z390; RAM - 32GB Crucial; GPU - Gigabyte RTX 1660 Super; PSU - SeaSonic Focus GX 650; Storage - 500GB Samsung EVO, 3x2TB WD HDD;  Case - Fractal Designs R6; OS - Win10

I think Microsoft is doing just fine tbh. And I need that extra $180 way more than they do. Not saying piracy is right neither am I endorsing it, just saying that a multi billion dollar company, with multiple products for personal and enterprise use, will be all right if I don't buy a copy of Windows off of their site.

You can just buy them on Amazon UK for <£10. Mine worked fine that I got from there, and they just email you the key so there is no postage cost.

Purchase from a proper retailer/online seller or from Microsoft (you can find them on sale if they are OWM keys). Looking for some shady deal (for certain sites) can lead to a few problems. If you do not want to spend the entire amount on a windows 10 pro key then maybe look for another OS version that is within your budget. The price is based on what they want for their product, You wouldn't walk into a subway and haggle the price of the sandwich they are making. If you do not like the price you are free to go somewhere else. It could be Microsoft charges too much for an OS as their competitions OS can cost nothing so you could go to their competitors which would show them that you disagree with their pricing. Just an IMO, I realise not everyone can just go purchase a Windows key willy nilly but there are better ways to find keys than to hunt for shady deals on some certain sites :)

Also Piracy is bad and do not get a key that is either stolen or using a key generator.

-> Moved to Windows

Looking at your other threads, I'd say if you need Win10 Pro, you can spend the money for it. Or if you don't need Pro features, Home will be just fine.
