Posted February 5, 2020 got a display port to dvi adapter since i wanted to use my old monitor as a second monitor since it only had dvi and vga outputs. my graphics card only has hdmi and display port. when i tried using it, it wasnt detected. any help? Posted February 5, 2020 What model monitor? I believe it depends on the type of DVI the monitor has whether that will work or not. If it's a DVI-A or DVI-I then I think you need an active converter but DVI-D does not.
