They are fine. I do see more RMA's for them, but that is probably caused by them just simply selling more laptops, due to having more options.

All laptop manufacturers have bad and good laptops and Acer is no exception. Of course if people buy cheap laptops, they will say the brand has poor quality components, which may not actually be the case.

I've had acers for about 10 years, never really had a any issued other than a cooling fan bearing on a 3-4 year old one. every was basicly on 24/7 for most of their life.
Ofc they have differen build quality depending on what tier chassis you buy etc. all the previous ones worked long past their performance lifespan. the latest i got (skylake i5) is still working fine, just did not have the battery life i wanted for school use any more.
