Posted February 1, 2020 Hey all. A while back I noticed that my main display (HP Omen 25") developed some issues displaying colors correctly. The only way I can think to word it is that everything looks like a highly compressed JPEG. It's persisted through a GPU upgrade, and when I switch to HDMI (currently using DisplayPort) it's mostly alleviated. Is this something that can be caused by a bad cable or what? It's very distracting.

Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake. Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere. Posted February 1, 2020 Author https://i.imgur.com/gLwGZPJ.png That's what it looks like on my main display. For comparison, here's the same image on my secondary: https://i.imgur.com/szmLhDa.png And finally, the background image itself: https://i.imgur.com/SGf2hHS.jpg Apologies for the phone pictures, it's not something I can just use screen capture on. No worries. Having a display to compare against is handy. don’t think it’s a bad cable. It might be monitor settings. Either in the gpu software or on the monitor itself. ive heard of this kind of thing happening when monitors get overclocked. Might not be what is happening here. What kind of what can probably be identified. Not by me though. There are monitor gurus around here. I’m not one though. Someone who knows may be along. At least the pics are took. I think they will be helpful. Might take a bit of time to get this one answered I’m afraid. GL Not a pro, not even very good. I’m just old and have time currently.
