Thinking about getting the 4 Slots and putting them into Raid 0 mode.

you will only get 2 slots from the card since you will get 8 lanes from the motherboard instead of the 16 needed.

the CPU only has 16 lanes to use for the slots. and 8 are for the GPU if you stick the expancion card in.

and from what ive seen that is Quite Complicated Right?

you can set it up in Bios. which should work fine.

Hey Guys Dao here,
I was thinking about buying the asus hyper m.2 x16 card and using it with my ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming.
I did get it right that this is only Usable for Mainboards with X299 Chipset? What would be an Alternative if so?

Greetings and have a nice Day

Hey, welcome to the forum!

From what I can find the Hyper M.2 x16 works just fine on Z390 (that is the case for the V1 and V2 of the card).

Your specific board is even listed on the FAQ for it:

Your board has two m.2 slots on it. You sure you need 4 more or are you just not seeing you do have slots on your board?

its only fully usable if you have a CPU/chipset that can supply 16 PCIe lanes.

which means lga 1151 isnt up to the task.

and AM4 only works if you do some jank ass tricker with the m.2 nvme slot.

that is assuming you want to run a GPU. and not just run a CPU with iGPU and no GPU. in which case it would work. on your board you will get 2 of the 4 m.2 slots open for use when you have a GPU.
