64mb is fine, but the worthiness depends how much the drive was used. I would let me send a  screenshot from crystal disk info

I know the guys got a stack of them, whether or not he's prepared to run crystal I don't know I can only ask.

What sort of usage would I be looking for as excessive?

I would look for no reported health issues and used hours maximum in the very low thousands. Not worth it imo to buy a drive that has already run 3500 or 5000 hours

For an extra £25 you could get a brand new 2TB Barracuda with a warranty and DOA protection from scan.co.uk. Is saving £25 really worth the potential headache of a used drive? Pretty sure the EARX WD Green drives are 5400RPM not 7200 as well.

I wasn't actually in the market for a drive but saw them at that price and wondered if that might be a decent price for some extra storage.

I did only find 1 place where speed was mentioned and that was 7200. After further research it seems they never advertised a speed but it's thought to be between 5400 and 5900.

So yes the Barracuda is looking like a better option, unless he's willing to come right down on the price.

I've never bought a used drive before so haven't a clue what they're worth.
