Hi guys! My budget is roughly around $500 - $700 USD (Got my financial aid check, need a decent laptop for word processing / school and mild-gaming on low).  I will eventually reinstall windows 7 64 proff on it, I just cannot stand 8.  Personal preference sorry :(  (If, ofcourse the drivers will work, etc)

It does look like the avatar is way thinner and looks sleek as heck, but is the extra 200$ even worth it? Sure, the ssd is nice... but I'm looking for a laptop to just lay down in bed with and play (Continent of the Ninth), Marvel Heroes, Path of Exile, or whatever on Medium Settings ofcourse.  Not looking for a powerhorse or anything special, just something that can play these games on low to medium with 30+FPS.   Hard drive space isn't even a issue, I'm fine with like 100GB... I probably still won't even use 50% of that alone, but I guess it's nice to have more space.

Anyways, thanks for reading, any insight and advice would be appreciated!

Also, maybe if there is a laptop that can fit my needs for even less than 499, that would be ideal...

Not much I'd say, but I would like to carry it in my backpack or in a laptop case while walking to class.  (Dependant on size, lol)

I'm not sure if I would use a touch screen to be honest, could that price get lowered w/o a touchscreen by chance? That 128gb sdd is a perfect find for me though.

Edit: Hmm, how far can that INTEL HD 4000 graphics go?

Edit2: aww Crap, just checked the screen size, looking for atleast 15. (maybe 14) Sorry forgot to tell you guys

Depends how long you want you battery life to last....a dedicated card will suck a lot more juice.

I can play SC2 on my 4000 with low settings. But on a 13.3" screen with 900p it still looks good.

If you want to go with a cheap, portable ultrabook you'll have to sacrifice quite a bit.

The non touch in your price range for that model is the 11.6" not the 13.3".

I'd go with the lenovo one.  Not sure if I'm just an idiot and that other laptop brand is huge, but to me it's unknown, so i wouldn't go with it

I would say you go with this one. My friend has one, it's decent. Spec is good, quality is good(aluminium construction), and it's Asus, you can't go wrong with that.
