Texas Instruments - TI84 Plus Locking Options?

Hi members of the LinusTechTips community,

I have a TI84 plus (not the CE edition) calculator, and I was wondering if there are any options to lock the calculator with a combination code using a program which could be added to the calculator with TI Connect? If anyone has any recommendations/suggestions pertaining to locking options for the TI 84+ please let me know within this thread, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

I don't think there's anything you can do. The calculator is running such a basic OS that it's unlikely you can implement security features. Or even if you could, they're easily circumvented.

I found a program to use for password protection on my TI84+, although as with all of the password protection softwares available, you can get past them by hitting 2nd and then the mode/quit button on the calculator, there has been a way to prevent the break error when someone pressesses the on button twice to try and bypass the lock, but nothing available to prevent quitting or exiting the password program. Removing a battery and then reinstalling will clear all of the ram, deleting the password protection and all programs that you could have possibly installed. I think that graphing calculators should come with security password option build-in since they are so expensive in the first place and the chances that it could be stolen, the hardware on this calculator is the same since 2004 and still costs 100 USD. Hopefully Texas Instruments will release more updates and upgrade hardware.

Although, thank you for your replies.
