Do you plan on overclocking? The fans that come with the R4 are also pretty nice.

I'm in the process of building a computer. I have an MSI z87-gd65 with an i5 4670k in a fractal r4 case. I was wanting to know what would be a good CPU fan to keep it cool? Also do you recommend changing the fans that come with the case?

NHD14, PHTC14PE, Dark rock pro 2/3. Any of those three heat sinks are silent and perform well.

The stocks R4 fans are plenty quiet, if you need more air flow in your case then consider replacing them with silence optimized fans that have higher rated air flow or static pressure.

Those are industrial grade fans

you do not want industrial grade fans

They will release gray(?) or different colored cut down versions. No black.

Instead of buying a high-end air cooler, you could drop another 20 or 30 dollars and get a good closed loop water cooler.

Such as a Corsair H80 or H90 for around 80-90 dollars. Or the H110 or 105 for 100 - 120.
