I need some help

I have set up a work environment in a place that has periodic problems with electricity. I thought of making a VM on a server with RAID1 to prevent dataloss. From my point of view the VM will be software safe due to snapshots and backups and physically the data is relatively secure on RAID1.

I look forward to any ideas, recommendations, tips etc

Thank you in advance :D

RAID is not a backup, but I would still recommend it. It won't save you from corrupt data of course, so you need a snapshot feature as well.

I would also recommend something of a UPS solutions. That is because when you do have power issues, the UPS can either have your machine work in the meantime or (if supported on both sides) the UPS can send a 'signal' to the server so it can safely turn off. That is so you don't encounter any data loss/corruption due to an unexpected power off.

+1 For UPS'!

RAID shouldn't be your only fallback plan, backups are still essential, also enable shadow copys and snapshots yeah.
