Hi guys,

I'm close to purchase my first workstation / gaming rig. Hoping to get some advice on what I've put together. I think the GPU could be upgraded in 1 to 2 years if needed. The other parts I'm hoping to last for a while. What do you think? Will it fit and work together?

  1. AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Boxed € 495,-
  2. Gigabyte Aorus X570 I PRO WIFI € 229,-
  3. Gigabyte Aorus Radeon RX 5700 XT 8G € 455,-
  4. NZXT H210 black/white € 84,90
  5. be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 € 74,50
  6. Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK64GX4M2D3600C18 € 396,88
  7. Corsair RM750 (2019) € 95,95
  8. Corsair Force MP600 1TB € 215,-

going to purchase in The Netherlands, so prices might be different from the US.

That case may or may not have terrible airflow, I can't seem to decide.  The rest looks good tho.  I'd go for an RMx PSU if you can find one that fits an ITX case.

QUOTE ME IN A REPLY SO I CAN SEE THE NOTIFICATION!

When there is no danger of failure there is no pleasure in success.

That Dark Rock Pro is going to be super tight in that case. Are you set on Mini-ITX, or do you not mind Micro-ATX/ATX?

I would prefer a bit smaller case, but I don't want to mess around with a super SSF build, and I think the NZXT cases looks pretty cool. Would you recommend going with the H500 series instead?

Switch the ram to 3600mhz cl16. The one you have got is a 3600mhz cl18 kit.

You can even drop the dark rock pro 4. The stock cooler just performs fine and has RGB as well.

Replace the PSU with RMx, formula gold, whisper m any one of them.

Also, do you seriously need a PCIe gen 4 SSD?

Also, are you dead set on a mini itx build?

Changed it around a little bit. More compact but still more than adequate CPU cooler, better PSU, and swapped out the SSD as I don't think the extra on-paper speed would be worth €40-50, and the 970 Evo is among the best NVMe SSDs on the market.

I agree perhaps the SSD is not worth it, the PSU, is also a good tip! thanks!

I'm wondering about the CPU cooler, the NZXT X42 vs the Noctua NH-U12S vs the Dark Rock Pro. It it worth it to upgrade to an AIO?

For the RAM I haven't found a 2 stick set of cl16 kit, any suggestions worth looking at?

Generally aio's are better suited for small itx builds. The case is already small and crammed, no point in exhausting the hot air from the cpu in the case itself. I think the x42 is one of the best 140mm aio's.

I don't think they make 3600c16 for 32gb sticks.

Quick question will the Gigabyte Aorus Radeon RX 5700 XT 8G fit? looking at pictures it might be too long or thick?

use pcpartpicker, they filter for this like this. if yu put the case in the build, they will only allow you to select gpu's that fit

What kind of workstation things do you mean to run? Just keep in mind that some software will only work with nvidia.

Such as ?

Anything machine learning (since those require CUDA and have practically no support for anything else), Renderers such as Octane, math stuff like Numba, the list goes on and on.

I wasn't disputing you, just curious to know. Workstation builds are not really in my field of knowledge.

Dw, I didn't think of it this way haha

Since this is mostly a forum targeted at young gamers, it's common for most people here not to know about details on other use cases.
