Posted January 16, 2020 Hi everyone, While playing RDR2, I have a sort of horizontal core clock graph. But sometimes, like seen on image, it downclocks briefly. I can also feel the stutter ingame when this happens. I don´t think it is the CPUs or GPUs fault. Since CPU temp is 71C and GPU is max 84C. What else could be causing this? Thanks for the help! Posted January 16, 2020 Author I found some more information. On task manager, you can see how when this spike occurs, there is a drop in VRAM usage also, along with a tiny spike on Copy. Posted January 16, 2020 Check other games to see if the problem is insistent. RDR2 is badly optimization and all of the fixes so far just made people even more angry. There's a reason why it got mostly negative when it was first released on Steam.

Yes, I get this same behavior in GTA V. Happens mostly in games where the GPU is at 100% because of ultra settings. On the other hand, on low usage GPU games it does the same thing, but instead of going from 2000MHz to 6MHz, it goes down from a lower value.
