Probable GPU bottleneck

So I have a rog strix gaming laptop from Asus. Its equipped with a gtx1050ti. The problem I am facing is that while playing games, the fps is throttling after 5 minutes of gameplay. For the first 5 minutes, the games run quite smooth with a stable framerate but after that the fps stutters ranging from 20-80 fps on games like gta5. Also I noticed that the cpu usage is really low while playing and its always when the gpu goes to 99% usage,the games starts stuttering but when the gpu usage comes down to 60-70-80% ,the game again starts running smoothly. This happens periodically after every few seconds. The gpu usage fluctuates between 60-99% and the fps stutters between 20-80 fps. I dont understand whats the problem. Also the gpu temps are around 80-87C and the cpu temps are the same. I suspect it might be thermal throtlling but I am not sure. Should I take it to the service centre to get it repasted or is there any other solution. The laptop is under warranty. The latest drivers are installed and I have tried installing older drivers with ddu but the problem persists. The gpu clock speeds also fluctuate but the range isnt much like from 1600-1750 mhz. This happens in all games and only happens after the gpu is warmed up after few minutes of gameplay. I have tried undervolting with msi-afterburner but the problem persists.

Also while benchmarking I have noticed in the rog gaming centre, the "gpu performance limiter" states power and sometimes utilization. I dont know what that means. Can it mean that the gpu is power throttling?

The specs are-

Intel i5-8300H@2.30ghz

gtx1050ti

8 gb of ddr4 ram

all games are installed on the ssd

There is no bottleneck, you are using a laptop that goes over 80°C so it throttles. It's a normal behavior at those temps especially with a poorly cooled laptop.

The laptop needs to be claned and "repasted", and I'd also recommend using a cooling stand.

But what about the fps dropping only when the gpu usage is reaching 99% and then running smoothly again when the gpu usage is dropping down to 60%?

That's because at 99% it became too hot and throttles back to a safest temp by lowering the usage to 60%.

GPU usage is related to GPU clock speed, check your GPU clock speed in real time.

The clock speeds are always at 1747 mhz, only sometimes dropping down to 1600s. Anyways I am getting the laptop clean and repasted as its still under warranty. If the problem remains I will report back to this thread.

No not really. Your temps are extremely high so it thermal throttles, normal behaviour.
