I'm guilty of that haha. I started treating my old phone like crap, kind of hoping it would break so I could justify getting a new one, it was just getting too slow. It still works fine, makes me wonder how people break their phones after the things mine has gone through...

Why would you wish that, if it breaks you are going to have to build a new one, why don't you just build a new one or upgrade the specs?

Can't you stick a little more RAM, bigger faster hard drive and also upgrade to a better GPU, also if you can find a quicker Athlon on eBay it might be worth doing.

 

Also that CPU was released in 2008 I think?

OK, i may have exaggerated on the age. :D

Upgrading is not an option because that is the upgraded version.

What i remember is from a motherboard with Nvidia chipset to this asus motherboard

and from ATI x1050 to the sapphire HD5570

 

and the ram is (1x2gb) and (1x1gb)

there is only 2 slots for ram and ddr2 is expensive now.

Yeah with newer faster systems available so inexpensively these days it's hard to justify upgrading when legacy components like old ram are so costly

Oh god I had a system with similar specs and I hated it haha. Was running a athlon x2 250, 4gb ddr2, geforce 6100pm, and a nvidia 9600gso. I'm actually still using the 9600 with my new build until I can get a new gpu XD

 

Edit*   I take that back I didn't HATE it, it actually still has alot of life in it I just was soooooo ready for a upgrade :P

The reason why my pc got an upgrade because the previous mobo and agp got fried in a power outage.

if i were you, i'd wait for haswell and the richland apu's to come out. should richland be as good of an improvement as insiders are saying it will destroy every other sub 500$ build.

 

i think the current rumors are that it has 15% better cpu performance and 20% better gpu performance. that means it's gpu will be significantly faster than the 6670 gpu's you can use in them for hybrid crossfire.

 

which would be nice for those on a budget and people like me who want a portable LoL rig.

If that rumor is true, it will be a great improvement for the apu's.
