I am upgrading my storage to SSD in my laptop but I currently don't have access to my external HDD so I was thinking if i can copy my data from my old HDD which has OS installed on it and to new SSD by using an external HDD enclosure. Anyone knows whether is it possible or not?

Having OS installed on both won't be a problem?

You can't just copy files over to the new drive and have the OS work.  You have to Clone it to make that happen.

The BEST way to do this is to reinstall the OS on teh new drive and then copy the files over that you need.

There is software you can use to clone (samsung's is good, Acronis, etc.) but there are sometimes issues with cloning.
