For about 10 years I've wanted to build my own PC. Only this year am I able to do so. For the last few month I've been going through and picking parts I feel would make a good system.

I will be gaming and using the system as a general work station (also I will be getting a VR kit later on). I also think i may end up streaming with this system or even just working on a youtube channel. I've asked on other platforms (reddit, Facebook, ect.) if the parts I've chose would make a good system, and I've had pretty good feedback to help me adjust the parts. This post is my last on all platforms, in an attempt to make 100% sure my system will be the best it can be.

This is the parts list
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Jn9RFG

My total budget limit is $3000 USD including any and all tax and shipping. I have no Micro Center near my home but there is a Best Buy I can pick up most of my parts from, while other parts I will have to ship. I think my current selection of parts will make a good system but i know there are things i could change to make it a bit better.

The main things i am unsure about are the monitor choices, storage choice, and case choices.

with the monitors i have chosen, i feel as though i found a good price for the type. however, i have heard that high resolution monitors are not quite as good because of how close they sit. would it be work it to have 1440p monitors? i was able to find 1080p monitors that are pretty much the exact same but cheaper.

With the storage, i know for sure i want a M.2-2280 as a boot drive. however, i am unsure if i should use a single high capacity M.2 drive or split the load between a lower capacity M.2 drive and a high capacity HDD/SSD/SSHD

There are so many PC cases that it has been difficult trying to find one that looks good and will be large enough to fit the CPU cooler and the GPU. RGB is not a must have but i would like to see inside the case and see the parts. i also have my own RGB strips i can add if i do want color. however if a good case is suggested that has RGB i would like it to be ARGB or just plain red.

Here is a summary of the parts:
*Ryzen 7 3700x - $322
*XFX RX 5700 XT THICC III Ultra - $429
*MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX - $114
*Noctua NH-D15S - $79
*(4x8Gb, DDR4-3600) G.skill Ripjaws V - $160
*ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 SSD - $289
*Corsair RM 750W PSU - $109
*(2) MSI Optix MAG27CQ - $357 (each)
*Kingston HyperX Alloy FPS - $79
*Phanteks ECLIPSE P350X/GAMDIAS TALOS - $79/129

Some side notes that don't really relate to the PC itself. I don't have a desk or a chair so any recommendations are welcome. i have looked on amazon and may have something but if someone suggests something better, great! also, while looking at reviews of the XFX RX 5700XT, some people suggested a GPU bracer to go with it. i know this particular card is very large, but is it worth to get a bracer?

I will leave this post open for a few months while i wait to receive my tax return to purchase the parts. Thank you to anyone to suggests anything!

better. aslo the monitors you had were not good so i changed them.

GPU would be a bit lacking so i changed it. and changed stuff that was overpriced or unnecessary.

Just wanted to also say. I'm not going to upgrade to any RTX cad of X570 mobo. Too pricy, and honesty I don't see the benefit

i mean, for the same price as your build, @GoldenLag's 2080s is far superior the 5700xt.

But it's not? The base and boost clock of the THICC III is much higher for like $200 less

You know GPU and CPU clocks dont determine the performance right?

Also the thicc isnt a good card among 5700xt

This is why I posted on LTT forum. No I didn't know that. But I still don't see any benefits from spending that much more. Could you enlighten me on them? BTW, I would be playing games like minecraft, skyrim, and black desert online with this system

we just tried to give you a build with as much performance as possible for your budget. if you want to save money, or get the best frame/dollar performance, let us know of a revised budget and we'll help.

it's difficult to know exactly what people want and need from a forum post. you mentioned vr, you mentioned 1440p gaming at 144fps and a $3000 budget, and those things made us choose higher end gpu's.

Totally understandable. I definitely wanted opinions! I don't know a whole lot about all the very specific stuff with pc stuff. But i do follow LTT, jayz, bittwit, and gamers nexus on yt. So I have a bit of general knowledge. But definitely wanted tips from those that live and breath pc building lol

For real though. I quit literally don't see the benefit with RTX and X570 mobo. Other than Gen 4 M.2 and RTX as name suggests. But I've heard it just tanks performance when on and most games don't use it. Is it all really worth the high pricing?

x570 have support for more ram, higher quality vrm's, they are able to handle cpu's with more cores and reach higher overclocks. for the 3700x, a good msi b450 board is enough, but if in a year you'll want to upgrade to a 3900x for example, you'll have to upgrade your motherboard to a x570. gen4 pcie is also good, and while it's not fully useful now, the new generations of gpus and ssd's will start benefiting from it more and more.

i don't care for ray tracing either, just in terms of raw performance, the 2070 super is equivalent to the 5700xt (but more expensive, so going for the 5700xt makes sense). the 2080 super is 20% more powerful than the 5700xt. depending on the game, your monitor resolution and what fps you want to see, it might or might not be a good investment.

OK definitely all makes sense. Thank you. As for monitor Res, is 1440p worth the price over 1080p? Also, I've heard curved monitors are really good especially for dual screen?

Would suggest getting a 1440p monitor. You can get good ones for not a whole lot.

They are, but some people also dislike them,

i wouldn't go dual screen. at least not for gaming on both of them at the same time. if you want more screen space, get the ultrawide i recommended in my build. you can pair that with a smaller, 60hz screen if you need to keep discord/youtube/wathever on an extra screen while you game. for resolution, it depends on the size. if you want a smaller screen, 24 in 1080p is good. if you want more than 27in, you're starting to see the pixels, so it's better to go for 1440p. curved is up to you and your preference. go into any electronics store and stare at a few screens and see what works for you: flat vs curved, small vs large, 1080p vs 1440p. everyone has their own preferences. i have a curved 24in 1080p screen, and while i'm happy with the 24in 1080p part, i would have prefered it to be flat.

Alright. Not many places near me sell pc monitors sadly. But I have a friend who built their own pc several years ago. He's got a curved monitor. I like the view of them and how they kind of wrap around your POV better. As for gaming, I didn't plan on using them both to game on at the same time. So I guess the large monitor paired with a smaller one is a pretty good idea! I'll do a bit of browsing online and see if anything stands out
