If the older PC is plugged into a grounded outlet, that will work.
The ground/earth is a separate 'path' in the PC, that will not just send power to sensitive components. It (electricity) will also take the easiest way out, so it will just go to the mains ground.
I wouldn't work up too much about anti-static stuff. If you periodically touch something grounded you would be fine too. It's just that people often recommend using the new PSU, because you know for sure it's metal (some cases are painted) and you obviously have it.
