can't get PC to recognize EVGA AIO

Sup forum users, I just build my new PC that I've been planning for over a year and the only issue I still have is that my EVGA CLC 280 liquid cooler isn't recognized by the X1 EVGA software despite me having the block hooked up with the included USB 2.0 cable. Does anyone have this cooler or know what the issue might be? If anyone does that'd be greatly appreciated.
