Windows 10 displaying wrong time every restart

My PC shows the wrong time by several hours (not to the minute either) every time I restart it. For example, I just restarted and it's 5:35 AM. The time showed as 8:15 PM. 

 

My time zone is correctly set, and going into time settings and flipping the "automatically adjust time" switch off and back on fixes it.

 

Any idea why it might be doing this every time I restart?

Check if your Cmos battery is still good . it's suppose to last years, but it may be bad.

 

Look in your motherboard manual for the location and model.

Does the difference happen to coincide with the UTC offset of your local time zone? Are you dual-booting?

Brand new TRX40 motherboard so I doubt that's it, but I'll check.

That was part of the reason for my motherboard having issues with its clock (I had to switch to a battery from one of my barely used 15+ year old machines).

No and no.

Brand new is not guaranteed the battery is good. It may have been in storage since that board was made.
