@as96

Yeah, HDMI does not have the bandwidth to run at that resolution and such high refresh rates. Dual link DVI is capable but as @Gauzl mentions. Displayport has a greater bandwidth capability and can transmit audio as well.

Thanks for the answers :D.

But I still don't exactly know what to buy  :unsure:, probably I'm not even going to use the monitor speakers, though might be usefull if i break my headset.

Anyway can someone suggest me a cable from amazon.it (prime possibily) because I don't really know the difference between a €9 and a €30 cable.

If there is no difference i'll probably go to a local store to buy it  ^_^

A local store will charge you about an arm and a leg. As others said DP is a better cable but you will be absolutely fine getting a Dual Link DVI (but it must be dual link) for your needs. Having sound over the video cable can be really handy at times but it isn't crucial.

Yep that cable will work perfectly. It is  DVI-D Dual Link (D stands for digital and it also says Dual Link) so you will be fine with it.

The VG248QE comes with a dvi cable

cam sally is correct. Did you get a DL DVI cable in the box? No point wasting money.

The monitor arrived, it's awesome, and come with DVI and audio cable, tested on bf3 and is a lot better than my old 60hz monitor :D

Thanks for the answers.

Wait wait wait, is that a DVI cable or Dual DVI? If it's just DVI then it's basically a HDMI cable without audio.

Can you give me a link of the monitor if you can't tell the difference between the cables.
