G1 gaming 1080 not working in my system works fine in a friends

Tyster

specs

  • Mobo: evga z97 ftw
  • Cpu: I7 4790k
  • Current GPU is a 970
  • Psu: evga 750 Bronze
  • Gpu I’m updating to G1 gaming 1080

Now story time I just got a 1080 which refuses to show up in my bios or device manager I have tried absolutely everything I’ve removed drivers ,updated bios, messed with rando bios settings and just nothing (also we ran the 1080 in my friends pc and it runs fine we also tried his psu in my system because we thought that was the issue at first it wasn’t because still nothing) it just refuses to show in my build I can swap back in my 970 and everything runs fine. I’ve tried all my pcie slots and just nothing seems to work so I’m on here asking if anyone’s had this problem or something similar and has a solution or a fix or even an idea I’ll try whatever at this point ??
