2x8 pin connector

Go to solution Solved by Uptivuptiz,

You can do either one cable with the extension or 2 cables. It doesn't matter.

I'd make sure your PSU has enough power to run that card properly.  A decent modular PSU will give you the option of using two pcie 8 pin cables.

Ryzen 7 2700, MSI Rx 5700 Mech OC, Cooler Master V850, MSI B450 Tomahawk, Ballistix Sport LT ddr4 4x16 32gb @ 3200Mhz, XPG Gammix nvme 256gb, XPG nvme 128gb,

corsair rm 750, I have two 8 pins but my case is small if I can use only single cable then that would be better

Gotcha. Some non XT models only use one 8 pin like mine and it seems like the only power consumption difference in some is the addition of led lighting so I'm not even sure why they went with the 2x8 configuration

I found MSIs Rx 5700 Mech OC at Best buy for $339.. I couldn't find a better priced card for the value anywhere. If I was going to spend $400 I might as well have gotten the XT.

many reviews complain about high temps for this card and some say it cause stutter because of this so I think I will go for gigabyte.

Cool. I'd like to see how it performs.  I'd like to see how each manufacturers model compare. I haven't found any information like that yet. A nice graph with all of the 5700s. Would be nice.

I play on 1440p and found in reviews it only has like 10 fps more than none xt

Well depending on how much FPS you start with. That can be a percentile. Thats up to you

But i was more questioning that you are getting the non-xt because you never OC'ed.

Hardware unboxed has done extensive testing on pretty much all the cards on the XT. You can extrapolate those numbers to the non-xt

Its not.

In fact the non-xt is far more interesting for overclockers.

I really didn't think I'd be making use of the extra 15% for the $70 difference. It's not a lot of money really. And I hear AMD has another card coming out which I'll probably yearn for. (For no reason).
