My PC Sucks

Hey everyone I am at a loss right now. A while back I bought a 1070 to replace my 1060 and after I installed it I noticed lower performance in games. Like Minecraft I would struggle to get above 60 and in 7 Days to Die I can't get to 60 either on medium settings. Overall on every game I feel like I am not getting the frames I should for a 1070. My specs are a ryzen 5 1600 16 gb of trident z 3200. Could anyone please help me with my issue. Also I have tested my GPU in my friends pc and it ran fine.

It should be tied to your Microsoft account. Once it asks for the product key, skip that, and sign in after the installation. Your Windows licence will activate based on your account info.

You don't need to re-install Windows after upgrading graphics cards.

Have you checked in Nvidia Control Panel to see that everything is set as it should be?

Check that your GPU is detected correctly and that your drivers are up to date. Also check if you didn't accidentally plug your monitor in to your motherboard instead of your GPU.

Have you tried reseeding your GPU? And this 1070 that you bought, was it new or used? A used GPU could behave poorly if it was treated badly.

GeForce experience may have changed your game settings with the new GPU installed.  I would double check those.

And while you don't need a fresh Windows install with a new GPU install -- it's definitely worth it so you can move it over to a SSD.
