I have a hyper 212 evo on it. Only problem is I don't know how to overclock.

Board you have, I wouldn't OC it much past a 8350 anyways. Every little but will help. You need a GOOD board to clock a AMD chip high compared to an Intel. People running in the high 4's have sabretooth's and crossfires etc. Just google the board you have and overclocking and you should see a ton of guides. Aim to match a 8350 at first, and that should be pretty easy. TADA free updrade.

Now as far as why some games run badly. AMD simply cant match an I5 in an 8 thread game, though they can come close with Mantle. When games use less threads, the AMD's just aren't good. An I3 will blow them away. Arma, Guild Wars 2, etc,

BF4/ESO are console games. AMD will do ok at those games and all console ports going forward. This is why many of us don't recommend AMD for gaming on the CPU side. We aren't fanboys, it's just that perfect optimization in every game is years away, if we ever actually get it.

Some games like Planetside 2? Have redone the game engine to be more AMD friendly, because that game is coming to the PS4. Everquest Next? That game SHOULD run well on AMD. It is the Planetside 2 engine. Indie games? Prob still going to be much better on Intel, but AAA titles should be fine on the AMD.

So to cheer you up? It WILL get better on that chip as time goes on. People recommending the 83xx over the I5 for gaming? Jumped the gun by a few  years, and even then the I5 is still faster then a AMD in a 8 thread/core game. The I5 is simply the better GAMING chip. Just be glad you didn't buy a 9xxx. The 8320 at least has good VALUE and should be get better going forward. The 9xxx is about the dumbest cpu ever as far as gaming and value.
