Hi!!

So im going to buy the

Alienware AW2518H 240hz monitor.

 

I hear that displayport cables are good for 240hz monitors, i just don't know which specific cable to purchase,

The monitor comes with a cable, so use that:

Your videocard has Displayport too.

If I recall correctly, you will need DisplayPort 2.0 to support 240Hz.

Current videocards are still shipped with Displayport 1.4 though, not 2.0 yet.

That is good for (technically) 360Hz at 1920x1080 (this monitor's resolution), or even 2560x1440@300Hz (and 3840x2160@144Hz to finish off the list).
