So i finally saved up enough money for my first real gaming pc and i know there is a lot of people out there that are smarter than me at this! I would appreciate any tips, suggestions or any constructive criticism.

My budget is $2000- and the currency is in us dollars. My aim is to have a system that is future proof at least for a few years so i can play the latest games at high settings at the least, 3D modeling

and art drawing tools such as Sketchbook, i also do a small amount a video editing every now and then. As for monitors i was thinking of using just one HDTV 39" at 120hz, i don't need help with appliances such as mouse and keyboards, except what i listed the gaming desk and HDTV as a monitor! I have no current computer, so upgrading would not be possible, i am using a laptop and a pc that i am borrowing!

If you want to recommend a different part please provide a link to it so i can see it!

Please answer these first before we help you. Thank you.

1. Budget & Location
You may have listed a heap of parts that all add up to your preferred budget but it is easier if you just list the total amount you'd like to spend and the currency as well as if you'd consider going above that budget for more performance. We need the location as well because $US are different to $AUD and $CAD ect.

2. Aim
What is the system going to be used for? Web browsing, 3D work? Different systems need different levels of performance - a computer based for web browsing and office use won't handle heavy graphic design and video editing and a proper video editing system isn't good for gaming. If your aim is for gaming, please list what sort of gaming. In the same way that different usage types need different systems, you'll need a lot more power to run Far Cry 3 or Crysis 2 than you would Minecraft.

3. Monitors
How many monitors do you plan on running? Do you plan on moving to more monitors in the future? What resolution are they at too?

4. Peripherals
Do you also need to purchase peripherals such as keyboards and mice as well as monitors ect. Also please tell us if you'll need an OS such as Windows.

5. Why are you upgrading?
We ask this because you may see upgrading as the only path to solve an issue but things such as driver updates, reconfiguration or cleaning can boost performance without spending a cent.

ALSO

Please go to http://pcpartpicker.com/ and put in all your parts then there is a button In the top right hand corner that says "Plain Text" and copy and plaste that into this thread so people dont have to click every link and we can see prices and much more detail.

Edit: That desk and monitor need to be changed. You dont want to be playing on a 37 inch TV. That desk looks like complete garbage too so yes.

maybe get a better motherboard like a 990fx. It is much better compared to the 970 lines.

Wanna hang out with me and people like @Theslsamg, @ Ssoele, @BENTHEREN, @Lanoi, @Whiskers, @_ASSASSIN_, @Looney, @WunderWuffle, and @nsyedhasan. Well.... Check out: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/48484-unofficial-linustechtips-teamschnitzel-server-teamspeak/

Get 8320 and get a Gigabyte 990fxa-Ud3, also you don't need 1000watts you would be fine with 650-750

Also instead of H60 get a high quality air cooler (Unless you like the silentness and look of the H60)

Hope I could help!

Are you limited to only Amazon or are you open to other US shops?

I'd suggest using pcpartpicker to organize your build: http://pcpartpicker.com/

The psu is really overkill. A decent 550w is already plenty.

Is the optical drive really necessary?

Why an AIO? An air cooler like the 212 Evo would be much cheaper and quieter with similar performance.

This belongs in the New Builds and Planning section. I'm moving the thread.
Please post in the correct sub-forum in the future.

Better: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2R6NB

But won't it work just the same?

It doesn't look as good and TV's have more latency.

Would a 750 watt psu work?

Yes but it's overkill anyway.

But won't it work just the same?

The problem with TVs, is that they pre-process the images they display (in case they com from a digital or analog cable, and must be turned into the video you see), if you plug the PC into the TV you will face a bigger input lag than you would on a regular monitor. There many TVs out there that have something called 'game mode' where they display skips the pre-processing.

The TV is a '120hz' one, but many TVs claim to have this higher refresh rates, but what they only do is skip frames, and are not actually 120hz.

There are many TVs that have real 120hz displays (I have one), but they are worthless, because they lack the Native Dual Link DVI, or Displayport, which will allow you to drive a 120hz signal into the TV. Most TVs even real 120hz ones, just have HDMI conectors on the back, and they come with cables that are HDMI on one end, and DVI on the other one. This will not allow you to drive a 120hz signal.

Comparing IPS monitors, to TVs, I can say monitors look much better.

Personally I think that even if the TV you picked has everything mentioned above, in the way you would like it, it's not worth all the hassle and trouble to check.  Also the TV is massive, 39" is completely insane for a PC and specially for the desk you linked.

Edit* Double checked the TV, it doesn't feature any DisplayPort or Dual Link DVI. I'ts unlikely that you will be able to move a 1080p signal at 120hz from a PC with that cable.

I meant to quote "WoodenMarker", sorry about that.

The monitor you suggested is about $550 that is a little much, do you think this monitor would be a good replacement? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0043T7FKC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

They're not the same resolution. The reason why it's so expensive is because it's 1440p.

Don't allocate separate funds for each part and work with the budget as a whole. How much were you planning to spend total?

I was looking towards having at least a 27" display, also was the asus monitor i linked you to a no go? What is your opinion on it?

Pixels get quite large at 27" for 1080p. If you insist, there are cheaper options: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umhh6aa001

That 770 is overpriced compared to the cheaper 770's available. The 770 will however, do the job just fine and there are cheaper options: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn770oc2gd

Would a 750 watt psu work?

yes its fine its just the 8350 draws alot of power when you overclock so if you ever want a second gpu or a more powerful one it some overhead but either way you should be fine

its GE (pause) TechNicks

my rig plus everything i have bought for it http://pcpartpicker.com/p/30sNV
