The 6 pin connector carries the same amount of power as the 8 pin connector. The 2 extra pins are ground wires, they're just there as a "key", a way for the video card to make sure the wires are thick enough and the power supply is powerful enough to provide up to 150w of power.
On the back of your video cards, you could solder a tiny piece of wire to make the connection between the 5 ground pins (use a multimeter if needed) or you could simply put a piece of wire over the points and put some tape over to lock it in place.
Then you can use the 6 pin connectors, as you basically tricked the card into thinking you inserted a 8 pin connector.
