Problem: My second m.2 nvme ssd is not being detected on the motherboard. When in the storage setting on windows, it only shows 1 drive and 1tb of storage. There should be two.

Specs:

rog strix b450f gaming mobo

ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler

msi geforce gtx 1660 super

corsair 16gb 3200

650 gold 80+ psu

2x  1tb intel m.2 nvme ssd (installed on the mobo)

background: this is my first pc build and I am not familiar with a lot of things. I am a total noob to this. I tried to google the problem, however I am not familiar with many of the terms and things people suggest to do. I would need someone to explain in simple terms how I can fix this. Thank you so much for your time.

only 'simple' thing to do is enter the BIOS...go the where the drives are configured or identified, and check that the 2nd drive you want to use; is being recognised by the BIOS, then you try and see if Windows will recognise it. Right click this PC choose manage and then disk management...and hopefully you will 'see' the other drive...you MAY need to apply a drive letter to  it, and that's about as simple as it gets...hope that it will fix your issue, or come back for more advice, prolly from someone more astute that me with regard to ROG mobos...

when I enter the my pc-manage-disk managment  it shows Disk 0 as online and Disk 1 as "not initialized"

edit to add:  this disk is empty and has never been used. I built this pc within the last month. It has no files on it whatsoever.
