No post with XMP enabled

Go to solution Solved by Shahnewaz,

XMP and slowly back the frequency till you get a stable boot.

RAM is currently running at the stock 2133mhz, but I want dat bad boi running at the advertised 3000mhz. I hop in the bios, slap on the XMP, save and exit and bam. Can't get the bitch to post anymore. I force it off and back on to get it into safe mode. I turn off XMP and I'm back into windows in no time. However, I still wana get my advertised 3000MHz outta these sticks

Last time I used XMP, I had to apply it, save and exit BIOS, leave my hands off the keyboard for a minute for it to restart a couple times and then it worked.

Otherwise you will have to dial in a memory OC manually.

What motherboard do you have and what are the timings the manufacturer of the RAM mentions?

Asus Z370 board, Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x8GB RAM, 15-17-17-35 speeds. I tried some setting in the bios to get me to 3k that wasn't XMP and I got the same problem. I might have just been impatient because usually when I hit save&exit it just instantly restarts. Whenever I turn on XMP though, it stayed on for a good 3 minutes until I figured it just wasn't working and force powered it off

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

My only gripe with that is that it's advertised at 3000 :/

That's the thing with XMP. It's a guaranteed speed only for the RAM sticks themselves. Nothing more. Sorry ?
